Meet the Pence Family: The Ohio Natives Bringing Donatos to DFW
The new Flower Mound location will be proudly owned and operated by the Pence family. Lynne and Ralph Pence will co-own the new location, while their son, Travis, will oversee the day-to-day operations. Much like the origin story of Donatos Pizza, this will be a family affair, as the Pence’s connection to Donatos Pizza spans 40 years of family and food.
“We are from Columbus, Ohio. It is where our kids grew up and where our family is—it also happens to be the hometown and birthplace of Donatos Pizza. Furthermore, my sister used to work at Donatos, while her husband still works within the company,” Lynne said. “Our daughter in Oklahoma found out Donatos was coming to Edmond, where she lives, and called us. She was so excited that Donatos was finally coming down south and we wanted to be a part of it.”
The family, whose “people first” values coincide closely with the brand’s mission, plans on opening a total of 3 Donatos Pizza locations in and around the DFW area, with the Flower Mound location being the first. As Flower Mound is a family-centered community, the Pence family looks forward to partnering with local sports teams and student organizations to weave Donatos Pizza into the fabric of the community
The store is expected to bring 40 to 50 jobs to the community, many of which will be high schoolers working for the very first time. The Pence family not only wants to bring good pizza to the area but also wants to serve as a great opportunity for young adults entering the workforce.
